The new Public Safety & Community Services building embodies new and innovative policing approaches developed by the West Valley-Mission Community College District and Campus Police, in collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and the local community.
Its objectives include incorporating Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) policies and introducing mental health services to support students’ mental well-being. The design prioritizes safety, transparency, collaboration, while maintaining a responsive approach to the surrounding neighborhood and community. The building includes a public lobby, large community engagement room, public and staff restroom facilities, offices, conference room, interview room, evidence and ammunition storage, locker room, and dressing rooms. Secure vehicle and equipment spaces are also included in the project scope.
